Collection: Nicholas Brown

Nicholas Brown is a visual artist working primarily in printmaking and painting. His practice explores the tension between order and chaos, weaving together intricate urban landscapes with abstract fields of rhythm and color. Through this interplay of structure and spontaneity, Brown creates immersive compositions that invite reflection on the dynamics of contemporary life.

He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Washington. Brown has presented solo exhibitions at 4Culture Gallery (Seattle) and has been included in multiple “New Prints” exhibitions at the International Print Center New York (IPCNY). His work has also been shown at the Tacoma Art Museum, the Seattle Art Museum, and other institutions.

His artworks are represented in both public and private collections, including the Tacoma Art Museum, the New York Public Library, and the China Academy of Art.

With a keen eye for detail and a versatile visual language, Brown leads viewers through layered environments—at once architectural and emotional—where space and color converge in a dense, resonant experience.

He currently lives and works in Shanghai, China.
